Beschreibung

Sivelestat sodium salt is a sivelestat prodrug that is hydrolyzed in vivo to the active form, sivelestat. Sivelestat has been shown to have potent anti-inflammatory activity, which may be due to its inhibition of neutrophil elastase and low-dose group. It also inhibits the production of growth factor-β1 in vitro and has been shown to be effective against carcinoma cell lines. Sivelestat sodium salt also binds to dna and prevents replication.
