Beschreibung

2-Chloro-4,5-dimethylphenol (2C4MP) is a chemical compound that has been shown to have anti-cancer properties. It is structurally related to the widely used antimicrobial agent 4,5-dichloro-2-methoxyphenol (chloroxylenol). 2C4MP inhibits the growth of K562 cells in vitro and has been shown to inhibit the growth of leukemia cells. It also shows a potent inhibition of P. aeruginosa and Triton X-100 resistant strains of E. coli in vitro. 2C4MP is not toxic to mice at doses up to 2000mg/kg body weight long term, nor does it cause any liver toxicity in rats at doses up to 500mg/kg body weight per day.
