Beschreibung

Glycerol 3-phosphoethanolamine sodium (GPE) is a diagnostic agent for the detection of autoimmune diseases. GPE is a nanoparticulate composition that consists of glycerol, phosphoethanolamine, and sodium. It has been shown to bind to the ATP-binding cassette transporter protein on the surface of immune cells. This binding causes an increase in intracellular calcium levels and induces apoptosis by activating proteases such as caspase-3. GPE has also been shown to inhibit HIV infection in vitro. The particle size of GPE is optimized by trifluoroacetic acid treatment to be between 1 and 10 micrometers in diameter and can be used as a diagnostic agent for rapid blood sampling, as it does not require any specialized equipment or expertise for use.
