Produktinformation
- 5-iodo-6-methylpyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione
5-Iodo-6-methyluracil is a molecule that has been used in the study of transcriptional regulation. It was shown to inhibit skin tumor formation and skin cancer, as well as HIV infection in vitro. The mechanism of action for 5-Iodo-6-methyluracil is not yet clear, but it may be due to its ability to inhibit the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or to induce apoptosis through various mechanisms. This molecule also has been used in cell lysis experiments on leukemia inhibitory factor and carcinoma cell lines. The structural analysis of this molecule has been accomplished using plasma mass spectrometry.
