• Beschreibung: 2-Methyl-3-phenyl-2-propen-1-ol is an antifungal agent that has been synthesized and tested for its ability to inhibit the growth of fungi. It is a chiral molecule with two atropisomeric hydroxamic acid groups, one on each methyl group. 2-Methyl-3-phenyl-2-propen-1-ol binds to the active site of phosphine oxidases and inhibits phosphine oxidation. This inhibition leads to a decrease in the production of toxic metabolites, such as hydrogen peroxide or superoxide. 2MPEP also has been shown to inhibit epoxidation reactions catalyzed by metal complexes and epoxidation reactions catalysed by phosphines.
