Produktinformation
4,4'-Sulfonylbis(phenoxybenzene) is a monomer that is used to produce polyurethane coatings. It has been shown to be photochemically cross-linked in the presence of UV light or radiation with other polymers, such as 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA). 4,4'-Sulfonylbis(phenoxybenzene) can be synthesized by reacting methanol with glycidyl methacrylate in the presence of uv irradiation. This chemical reaction produces a hydrophobic compound that is soluble in organic solvents and insoluble in water. Hydrophilic polymers can be produced by adding hydrophilic monomers to the 4,4'-sulfonylbis(phenoxybenzene), resulting in chemical bonds between the two compounds.
