Beschreibung

N,N,N',N'-Tetramethyl-1,2-diaminopropane is a corrosion inhibitor that has been shown to be effective in neutralizing the corrosive effects of deionized water. It can be used as an additive for industrial applications such as polymer film and metal surface coatings. This compound is synthesized through an asymmetric synthesis process in which malonic acid reacts with ethylenediamine or diethylenetriamine. The resulting chelate ring has two amine groups on one side and one amine group on the other side. N,N,N',N'-Tetramethyl-1,2-diaminopropane is soluble in organic solvents and forms a gel film when dissolved in an organic solvent. It also has functional groups such as carboxylic acid and amine groups that allow it to form strong bonds with metals such as copper and zinc.
