N-[2-(2,4-Dioxopyrimidin-1-yl)-4-hydroxy-5-(hydroxymethyl)oxolan-3-yl]-2,2,2 -trifluoroacetamide also inhibits the protein synthesis of human cancer cells by interfering with the function of DNA polymerase and RNA polymerase.
