Boc-D-Trp-OH is an unsaturated ketone that can be used as a building block for peptide synthesis. The disulfide bond present in this molecule may be reduced by the addition of DTT or DTE. This compound has also been shown to have cardiac hypertrophy inhibiting effects, due to its ability to inhibit PDE5 enzyme activity.
