Fosinopril belongs to the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor class of drugs, which prevents the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II. This leads to decreases in blood pressure and slows down the progression of kidney disease, hypertension and heart failure.
