Beschreibung:2,5-Dichloronicotinonitrile is a phosphoinositide analog that has been shown to have cytotoxic effects in cancer cells. It binds to the phosphate groups on the cell membrane and inhibits the synthesis of phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-trisphosphate (PIP3). This prevents the activation of Akt, which is a protein involved in cell survival and proliferation. The molecular modelling study showed that 2,5-Dichloronicotinonitrile can inhibit cancer cell proliferation at low nanomolar concentrations.
