Beschreibung:Irinotecan hydrochloride trihydrate is a topoisomerase I inhibitor that is used as chemotherapy drug for colorectal cancer. By inhibiting topoisomerase I, Irinotecan hydrochloride trihydrate prevents the replication of DNA in cells, and stops the cancer cells from growing and dividing. When used for chemotherapy, Irinotecan hydrochloride trihydrate is usually part of combination therapy with other chemotherapy drugs, such as 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and leucovorin for other cancers.
