Beschreibung:3-(Pyridine-4-amido)thiophene-2-carboxylic acid is a ligand for the human receptors CXCR4 and CCR5. It has been shown to activate both receptor types by binding to their extracellular domains. 3-(Pyridine-4-amido)thiophene-2-carboxylic acid has been shown to inhibit HIV infection of cells in vitro, and was identified as a potential inhibitor of HIV entry into cells. 3-(Pyridine-4-amido)thiophene-2-carboxylic acid also binds to proteins such as GTPase RhoA and inhibits its activity, which may be responsible for some of its biological effects.
