Beschreibung

Risperidone can be used as an antipsychotic drug in the treatment of schizophrenia and mania. This is due to it binding to the 5-HT2 receptor and antagonizing serotonin, leading to a reduction in symptoms such as delusions and hallucinations. This product can also act on the D1 and D2 Dopamine receptors. It is thought, that as a result of Risperidone’s antagonistic activity against D2 receptors within the tuberoinfundibular pathway, an increase in the level of prolactin occurs.
