Beschreibung

Tianeptine is a tricyclic antidepressant with anxiolytic effects to treat major depressive disorder. Additionally, this drug has been studied for the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome. Studies have suggested that this drug is an agonist of the mu-type opioid receptor. This drug also exerts its action on serotonin and dopamine receptors.
