Beschreibung:Chlorazanil hydrochloride is an oxidizing agent that destroys the bacterial cell wall. It is used to treat necrotizing enterocolitis in neonates, which is a condition of severe tissue damage in the small intestine and colon. Chlorazanil hydrochloride has been shown to be effective against bacteria resistant to erythromycin and clindamycin. The salt form of chlorazanil hydrochloride is well-tolerated by patients with renal failure or those on dialysis, as well as in neonates, but it can cause saluretic effects and neurotoxicity.
