Beschreibung:Lenacil is a hydroxy derivative that inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to bacterial DNA and RNA. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of mouse tumor cells in vivo, and has also been used as a dietary supplement to treat skin diseases caused by bacteria. Lenacil is not active against acid-fast bacteria such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis or Mycobacterium avium complex. The drug is an analytical reagent for the determination of sodium hydroxide solution in plant physiology and herbicides. Lenacil has also shown synergistic effects with other antimicrobial compounds, such as chlorhexidine, triclosan, and benzalkonium chloride.
