3-Sec-amylphenyl N-methylcarbamate is an antiviral agent that inhibits the activity of cholinesterases. It has been shown to inhibit the production of proteinases, which are responsible for the symptoms of hepatitis. 3-Sec-amylphenyl N-methylcarbamate is a drug with a family history of being used to treat viral infections. 3-Sec-amylphenyl N-methylcarbamate inhibits viral replication by interfering with the synthesis of viral RNA, and has been shown to be effective against HIV, influenza A and B viruses, and herpes simplex virus type 1. It also prevents cell death caused by the virus.
