Beschreibung

Sulforhodamine B is a dye that can be used as an antigen binding molecule to detect cancer cells in the body. It is also a fixative agent and natural compound that has been shown to have anticancer properties. Sulforhodamine B binds to bcl-2 protein and prevents it from suppressing apoptosis, which leads to tumor cell death. The rate constant of sulforhodamine B for benzalkonium chloride was measured at 8.7×10 M-1s-1, which was higher than that of the other compounds in this study. This significant up-regulation of sulforhodamine B may be due to its interactions with benzalkonium chloride. Sulforhodamine B is used as a fluorescence probe or electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) agent for biological samples such as human blood plasma or urine, which allows it to bind to proteins and DNA molecules within the sample.
