Beschreibung:Bellidifolin is a natural product that has been shown to have inhibitory properties against oxidative injury in liver cells. It also has antioxidative properties, which may be due to its ability to scavenge reactive oxygen species (ROS) and inhibit lipid peroxidation. Bellidifolin can be used as an antidiabetic agent, because it inhibits the activity of α-subunit of protein kinase C (PKC), which is involved in the regulation of glucose metabolism. Bellidifolin has been found to bind to PKCα with high affinity and inhibit PKCα activity. Bellidifolin can also inhibit DNA polymerase β, which is responsible for replicating DNA. The inhibition of this enzyme leads to cell death by preventing the production of proteins vital for cell division.
