Glyburide potassium has been shown to increase intracellular Ca2+ levels, inhibit ATP-sensitive K+ channels, and stimulate enzyme activities in human erythrocytes. The drug also inhibits sodium carbonate-induced ionotropic gelation in aqueous solutions. Glyburide potassium has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) activity in vitro. It also inhibits neuronal function in vitro through its effects on monoclonal antibodies.
