Beschreibung

Isobutylshikonin is a natural compound that belongs to the group of hydroxylated terpenes. It has an aromatic ring with a hydroxyl group, and is found in ganoderma lucidum. Isobutylshikonin exhibits potent physiological activities such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer activity. Isobutylshikonin also has antiviral activity against HIV-1. The chromatographic method for isolating this compound involves extracting it from pueraria lobata with acetate and then purifying it by liquid chromatography. This process yields shikonin as well as other compounds such as lithospermum erythrorhizon, dihydroisohumulone, and 3-oxo-6-prenylnaringenin.
