Beschreibung

4-(1-Adamantyl)-3-thiosemicarbazide is a potent antibacterial agent that belongs to the group of aldehydes. It has shown inhibitory activity against faecalis, with an inhibitory potency of 0.7 µg/mL. Further studies have shown that 4-(1-Adamantyl)-3-thiosemicarbazide inhibits bacterial growth by binding to amines and is toxic to cells in culture. This compound also has hypoglycemic activity and radiation sensitivity in vitro. Studies on human breast cancer cells have revealed that this drug inhibits the proliferation of MCF-7 cells at concentrations ≥1 µM, but not at lower concentrations (0.1-1 µM).
