This drug has inhibitory properties on isolated heart muscle cells, which are mediated by its ability to bind to the beta-adrenergic receptor. Furthermore, saterinone may have a role in blood pressure monitoring because it inhibits angiotensin II-induced contraction of isolated vascular smooth muscle cells.Saterinone is an inhibitor of nitroprusside-induced hypotension in rabbits, which may be due to its ability to inhibit nitric oxide synthase (NOS).
