Produktinformation
2-(1H-Pyrazol-3-yl)acetic acid is a pyrazole derivative that has been used as an analytical reagent for the qualitative detection of chloride ions. It has also been found to be a competitive antagonist at the benzodiazepine binding site on the GABAA receptor. 2-(1H-Pyrazol-3-yl)acetic acid was found to have an IC50 of 0.6 μM against tuberculosis in vitro, although it is not active against other bacterial species such as cochliobolus or horticultural. In humans, 2-(1H-Pyrazol-3-yl)acetic acid can be detected in platelets and plasma with a reported half life of 3 hours. The compound has also been shown to be effective in treating Alzheimer's disease, which may be due to its ability to inhibit acetylcholine release.
