PFE-360 also protects against neuronal cell death induced by amyloid beta peptide, which is implicated in conditions such as Alzheimer's disease. PFE-360 has been shown to protect against oxidative stress, excitotoxicity and phospholipid oxidation. PFE-360 is currently being developed for the treatment of neurological disorders associated with aging or injury that are characterized by neural degeneration.
