• Beschreibung: Lasioglossin-III (Lasio-III) is a naturally-occurring salt-resistant anti-microbial peptide (AMP) found in-Lasioglossum laticeps-(broad-faced furrow bee). Lasioglossin-III has broad spectrum anti-microbial activity and anti-biofilm properties against Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria, including strong anti-microbial activity against-E. coli,-S. aureus, and-P aeruginosa-under physiological salt concentration, with low toxicity.AMPs form an important part of the innate immune system in plants, animals and insects-and are reported to be effective even against several antibiotic resistant strains due to differing modes of pathogen killing from those of conventional antibiotics. Lasio-III has a membranolytic mode of action. It can bind both the outer and inner membranes of bacteria. Lasio-III possesses a fast killing ability toward both Gram positive and negative bacteria compared to many other active AMPs.
