Beschreibung:Polybia-MPI is a short cationic alpha-helical amphiphilic anti-microbial peptide which was first isolated from the venom of the social wasp Polybia paulista. Polybia-MPI displays potent anti-bacterial activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and is able to disrupt biofilms. Polybia-MPI also has anti-fungal activity against C. albicans and C. galbrata and selective toxicity toward cancer cells. Polybia-MPI has low toxicity to normal fibroblasts and human red blood cells, showing no haemolytic activity.
