• Beschreibung: Insulin-like growth factor 2 mRNA-binding protein 3 (IGF2BP3) is an RNA-binding protein (RBP) which recognises two related GGC-core elements (GGCA and CGGC) and is of particular interest in tumorigenesis and tumour progression.RBPs play a major role in regulating the RNA life cycle via directing nuclear export, translation and degradation rates, and in the intracellular localisation of RNA transcripts. IGF2BP3 has been implicated in various aspects of human tumour progression including cell growth, migration, and the response to drugs, depending on cellular context. IGF2BP3 is able to bind and segregate oncogene transcripts into granules (locasomes). Once in these granules they are protected from let-7-dependent silencing and other miRNAs and therefore offer a safe house from degradation. However in other contexts IGF2BP3 can also promote the association between mRNAs and RISC, to favour mRNA degradation.IGF2BP3 is expressed in mouse embryos in neural cells, intestine, thymus, pancreas, and kidney epithelial germ layers where it plays a general role in neural development and organogenesis. IGF2BP3 is also detected in the placenta, lymph nodes, tonsils, and testes in adult humans. The lysine residue at position 1 of this peptide is isotopically labelled with carbon-13 (6) and nitrogen-15 (2), giving this peptide a mass increase of 8 compared to the unlabelled peptide.
