Beschreibung

Platelet basic protein (PBP) is the parent precursor protein for βTbg and related chemokines, including neutrophil activating peptide 2 (NAP-2- CXCL7). PBP is a platelet activation marker, which induces macrophage chemotaxis and mediates neutrophil accumulation and has been reported to stimulate various cellular processes, including regulating the growth and metastasis of cholangiocarcinoma. PBP is also a potent chemoattractant. PBP signals through binding to its receptor C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 1/2 (CXCR2) and this signalling plays a promoting role in several common malignancies, including lung, renal, colon, and breast cancer. Overexpression of PBP in cancer cells is thought to promote cell proliferation.The valine residue at position 7 of this peptide is isotopically labelled with carbon-13 (5) and nitrogen-15 (1), giving this peptide a mass increase of 6 compared to the unlabelled peptide.
