• Beschreibung: This peptide represents a metabolite of Icatibant acetate (Firazyr). The Icatibant peptide is a selective and competitive bradykinin B2 receptor antagonist, with strong affinity for the B2 receptor.Bradykinin receptor B2 is a G-protein coupled receptor for bradykinin which is ubiquitously and constitutively expressed in healthy tissues. Bradykinin receptor B2 stimulates the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway and stimulates phospholipase C to increase intracellular free calcium. The B2 receptor also forms a complex with angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE), and this is thought to play a role in cross-talk between the renin-angiotensin system (RAS) and the kinin-kallikrein system (KKS). The bradykinin peptide elicits many responses including: vasodilation, oedema, smooth muscle spasm, pain fibre stimulation and microglia and T cells migration.The serine residue at position 1 of this peptide is isotopically labelled with carbon-13 (3) and nitrogen-15 (1), giving this peptide a mass increase of 4 compared to the unlabelled peptide. Tic refers to 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline-3-carboxylic acid and Oic is octahydroindole-2-carboxylic acid.
