Beschreibung:TNF-α is a cytokine that has been shown to be a potent inducer of tumor necrosis. It also promotes the activation of macrophages, neutrophils, and endothelial cells. TNF-α is produced by many different cell types, but most notably by activated macrophages and lymphocytes. TNF-α is secreted from these cells in response to stimulation with lipopolysaccharide or other agents such as LPS, IL1β, or CD40 ligand. The protein encoded by this gene is an important cytokine for the immune system.
