Dibenz[b,f][1,4]oxazepin-11-one is an oxidant that is used in the synthesis of clozapine. It has been shown to produce hydrogen peroxide in the presence of c1-6 alkyl. Dibenz[b,f][1,4]oxazepin-11-one has a nucleophilic nature and can be used as a catalyst for the oxidation of aromatic compounds with hydrogen peroxide. It is also used as a reagent in organic chemistry to synthesize trans-stilbene. This compound has been shown to have anticancer activity against both human breast cancer cells and murine leukemia cells. Dibenz[b,f][1,4]oxazepin-11-one has also been shown to induce cell death by inhibiting protein synthesis and inducing apoptosis.
