• Beschreibung: Sodium 10-undecenoate is a sodium salt of undecylenic acid. It has been shown to be effective against the fungi Candida albicans and Trichophyton mentagrophytes, as well as bacterial strains such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus. Sodium 10-undecenoate can be used in detergent compositions for the control of microbes on fabrics. In vitro tests have shown that this compound has no effect on the growth of Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, or Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The antimicrobial activity of this substance is related to its ability to disrupt lipid membranes in bacteria and fungi by interacting with fatty acids.
