BML 111 is a drug that has been shown to inhibit the growth of skin cancer cells. It belongs to the class of small molecules that bind to DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, thereby preventing transcription and replication. BML 111 also inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-1β in low doses. This drug has haemorrhagic effects at high doses in animal models, which may be due to its ability to induce apoptosis through toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) signalling. BML 111 also promotes autophagy, which is a process by which cells remove damaged or excess proteins and organelles from the cell. Finally, it has been shown that this drug can increase systolic blood pressure in mice, possibly through increased prostaglandin production.
