Spirotetramat is a chemical pesticide that inhibits the growth of insects by interfering with the synthesis of chitin, an important component of insect exoskeletons. It has been found to have synergistic effects with other insecticides such as pyrethroid and organophosphate, which leads to an increase in the toxicity of these pesticides. Spirotetramat has also been studied for its effect on humans; it was found to have a high resistance in vitro and in vivo and showed no significant toxic effects on humans. The optimum concentration for spirotetramat is 0.2 mg/L, which can be achieved through dilution with water or anhydrous sodium carbonate. Spirotetramat has not been tested for its effect on animals, but it is not expected to produce any adverse effects because it does not bind well with proteins.
