6,8-Difluoro-4-hydroxyquinoline-3-carboxylic acid is a pyrrolidinyl quinolinecarboxylic acid that is structurally similar to ciprofloxacin. It inhibits the bacterial enzyme GyrA and GyrB, which are involved in DNA replication. 6,8-Difluoro-4-hydroxyquinoline-3-carboxylic acid has been shown to be effective against gram negative bacteria and can be used as an antibacterial agent.
