Beschreibung

Allyl-[1,3-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)imidazol-2-ylidene]chloropalladium (II) is a palladium complex that is used as a fluorescence probe in the study of transcriptional regulation. It has been shown to bind to dahurica angelica root extract and to inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli. The compound's antimicrobial activity is due to its ability to disrupt bacterial cell membranes. Allyl-[1,3-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)imidazol-2-ylidene]chloropalladium (II) binds to nitrogen atoms in the biological sample (such as DNA). This binding process leads to the generation of an intramolecular hydrogen bond which destabilizes the DNA molecule and prevents it from being replicated.
