It can be used in the synthesis of (±)-N-(4-(4′-chlorophenyl)phenyl)carbamic acid 1-(1,5-dimethylheptyl) ester. This product has an optimal reaction at pH 7 and a ring opening rate constant of 0.0028/sec at 25°C.
