Beschreibung

1,4-Dioxaspiro[4.5]decan-6-one is a cyclohexane ring with a hydroxyl group on the 1 and 4 carbons that are adjacent to the oxygen atom. It is chemically stable and has been shown to have chemokine receptor activity. 1,4-Dioxaspiro[4.5]decan-6-one has been shown to stimulate glutamate receptors in the nervous system and has also been shown to be an inflammatory agent in animal models of disease. 1,4-Dioxaspiro[4.5]decan-6-one also has unsaturated ketones that can act as prostaglandins or leukotrienes by inhibiting the production of a chemical called 5,6 dihydroprostaglandin F2α (5,6 DHPGF2α) that is involved in inflammation and depression.
