Beschreibung

(S)-2-(Boc-amino)-3-methylbutanal is a chiral aldehyde that is obtained by the reduction of 2-(benzyloxycarbonylamino)ethanol with hydrogen fluoride. It is used in the synthesis of polymers such as poly(alpha-hydroxy acid). The stereoselectivity and yield of this reaction can be improved by using a reversed-phase column for chromatography. This product has been shown to have biomolecular activity, including binding to nucleic acids and protein structures.
