• Beschreibung: Procyanidin B2 3,3'-di-o-gallate (PB2DOG) is a gallotannin that can be found in the leaves of the dogwood tree. It has dose-dependent effects on the serine protease activity of butanol, which is used as a model for pancreatic lipase. PB2DOG also inhibits the activity of viruses such as hepatitis C and herpes simplex virus type 1, and cancer cells such as du145 and japonica. PB2DOG has been shown to induce apoptosis in cancer cells by reducing DNA synthesis and inhibiting protein synthesis. The mechanism behind this effect is not fully understood, but it may be related to its ability to inhibit cCAAT/enhancer binding protein (C/EBP), an important transcription factor for cell proliferation.
