Beschreibung

Ascomycin is a natural compound that has been found to have anti-inflammatory activity. It also has the ability to inhibit matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and to protect cells from apoptosis. Ascomycin has been shown to be effective against wild-type strains of Candida albicans and other opportunistic fungal infections. It has also been shown to have an effect on blood sampling, as it can prevent leukocyte activation and alter the inflammatory response in whole blood. Ascomycin's effects on hl-60 cells are due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis by binding with ribosomes. The drug is also known for its interactions with other drugs such as pimecrolimus, tacrolimus, or cytosolic Ca2+. These interactions may cause adverse reactions or changes in the pharmacological effect of these drugs.
