(All-Z)-N-[2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)ethyl]-4,7,10,13,16,19-docosahexaenamide is a phenoxy compound that has been shown to have pharmacological effects in both animals and humans. It is an amide with a polyunsaturated fatty acid chain. This drug inhibits the pathogenic mechanism of glp-1 analogues and analogues on primary cells such as neurons and pancreatic beta cells. (All-Z)-N-[2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)ethyl]-4,7,10,13,16,19-docosahexaenamide has also been shown to be neuroprotective in animal models. The mechanism of this protective effect is still not clear but it appears to be related to the ability of this drug to inhibit the release of endogenous substances such as dopamine or fatty acids.
