Beschreibung

2-(2'-Hydroxytetracosanoylamino)-octadecane-1,3,4-triol is a polyhydroxylated fatty acid that has been shown to have anti-cancer and antibiotic effects. Sk-mel-28 cells treated with 2-(2'-Hydroxytetracosanoylamino)-octadecane-1,3,4-triol demonstrated significant cytotoxicity in vitro. This compound also inhibits the growth of staphylococcus bacteria and skin infections caused by Streptococcus pyogenes. 2-(2'-Hydroxytetracosanoylamino)-octadecane-1,3,4-triol also showed strong anti-cancer activity against glioma cells. It is believed to be due to its ability to inhibit cellular proliferation and induce apoptosis in cancer cells.
