Beschreibung

3-Dimethoxymethyl-5-trimethylsilanylethynyl-pyridine is a synthetic anticancer drug that inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells by binding to DNA. The drug interacts with the enzyme topoisomerase II, preventing its ability to untangle DNA and allowing it to repair DNA damaged by anticancer drugs or radiation therapy. 3DMTMPE binds to the topoisomerase II enzyme and prevents it from releasing the two strands of DNA after they have been cut by another anticancer drug. This leads to apoptosis of cancer cells, which occurs when cells are unable to repair their own damaged DNA.
