ATN-161 is a small molecule that binds to the M2 receptor, which is expressed on macrophages and regulates their function. ATN-161 has been shown to regulate the activation of M2 macrophages in vitro and in vivo. This drug can inhibit the proliferation of human bone marrow-derived macrophages by suppressing the production of IL-1β and IL-6, which are cytokines that induce inflammation.
