Beschreibung

2-Naphthyl a-D-glucopyranoside is a phenolic compound that has been shown to be an inhibitor of beta-glucosidase. It inhibits the activity of this enzyme in urine samples, which may provide a valuable tool for the diagnosis and treatment of urinary tract infections. 2-Naphthyl a-D-glucopyranoside was also shown to inhibit the population growth of corynebacterium glutamicum, which is an acidogenic bacterium that can cause urinary tract infections. This compound inhibits bacterial growth by binding to DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, thereby preventing transcription and replication. The high frequency of human activity has been shown using a patch-clamp technique on human erythrocytes. This active form is metabolized through a number of metabolic transformations, including hydrolysis by esterases or glucuronidases, oxidation by cytochrome P450 enzymes, reduction by glutathione
