• Beschreibung: 8-Oxoguanine DNA glycosylase is a glycosylase enzyme that repairs the 8-oxoG DNA base. It has been purified from human and Escherichia coli cells and recombinantly produced in E. coli. The enzyme has a molecular mass of about 42 kDa and is composed of two polypeptide chains with an apparent molecular weight of 17 kDa each. 8-Oxoguanine DNA glycosylase has been shown to have a broad substrate range, including both oxidized and reduced forms of 8-oxoG, as well as other oxidized purine bases such as 7,8-dihydrothymine (8-hydroxyguanine) and 5,6-dihydrothymine (5,6-dihydroxyguanine). The enzyme catalyzes the removal of the damaged base from the DNA backbone without any concomitant chemical changes in the sugar or phosphate groups
