Methyl 2-(1,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)quinoline-4-carboxylate (MDCQ) is a novel active substance that belongs to the aromatic hydrocarbon group. It has been shown to have anticancer and antiinflammatory properties in cell cultures. MDCQ can be synthesized by reacting 4-(hydroxymethyl)phenylacetonitrile with 1,5-dimethylpyrazole in an amide coupling reaction.
